- Safety is always one good step away – step wisely.
- Holding on to anything too tightly, be it a weapon or a self-perception, makes one’s feet sluggish and rooted.
- There is no time for thought at the speed of instinct. Movement must be engrained in the body, and the mind must be unteathered.
- Let targets come to one.
- All else being equal, the subtler movement wins.
- Almost all strikes should be done as coup de grace.
